NO EXCEPTIONS!
1. Equipment:
Players are
responsible for bringing their own tennis racquets and balls.
2. Game Time/Default:
Please arrive 15
minutes early to ensure that your games start on time. Games are one (1)
hour in length. Teams should play as many games as they can within the
given time. Teams are comprised of two (2) players (one man and one
woman). A default will occur if either member of a team is not present 10
minutes after the official start time. Aside from defaulting the match,
this team will also forfeit part of their default bond (see section 4
below)
3. General Rules:
i.
Proper tennis scoring should be used to score your matches.
ii. The team that has won the most games at the end of the hour
will be considered the winner. . If you are unable to complete a game
because time has elapsed, the unfinished game will not count towards the
overall match score. Ties are allowed.
iii. If a discrepancy over a line call cannot be resolved, the
point should be re-served. Save your breath for running.
4. Default Bond:
Teams must be
represented at each of their games. If you are unable to make it to a
game, it is your responsibility to find a substitute for the evening. In
the event that you are unable to find a suitable replacement (male for
male, female for female), your team will forfeit $25 from your default
bond payment. A $25 deduction will be made each and every time you default
a match, used towards a refund to your opposing team that week. If
you have signed up for the combo season, you will be asked to replenish
your bond to the original amount (if you lost part of your bond during
the spring season).
5.
Cancellations:
Game cancellations are the decision of the Tennis Club and not the OSSC.
In the event of a cancelled game, it is the teams' responsibility to
coordinate with one another and reschedule the game for another night by
contacting the Tennis Club.
6. Reporting your
result:
Both teams must
report the result of their match to OSSC before 5pm the following day. You
only need to report whether you have won, lost or tied - we don't need to know the score of the match.
